2017 Sierra & 2017 Canyon Earn KBB '2017 Best Resale Value Awards'

The cost of living seems to continually go up. Along with higher grocery and housing prices, Oklahomans also have to deal with paying some of the highest combined state and local sales taxes in the country. So when it comes to buying a new vehicle, Oklahomans tend to pay close attention to resale value.

Choosing a vehicle with a good resale value can save you a significant amount of money, when it comes time to sell your old vehicle and upgrade to a new one. Lucky for Oklahomans, Ferguson Buick GMC offers two vehicles that have proven their worth well beyond that first day of ownership.

The 2017 Canyon and 2017 Sierra have been recognized among the Top 10 in Kelley Blue Book’s '2017 Best Resale Value Awards'

The average new vehicle will be worth about 33% of its original sticker price after 60 months. The 2017 GMC Canyon is projected to have a 47.2% resale value (after 60 months), while the 2017 GMC Sierra is projected to have a 47.5% resale value (after 60 months). That equates to quite a bit of savings over to the competition! Kelley Blue Book based these figures on how much value they project each 2017 model year vehicle to keep after five years on the road.

This isn't the first time the GMC Sierra and GMC Canyon have been awarded the 'KBB Best Resale Value Award'. Both trucks have earned the accolade in years past. This recognition provides to our Tulsa-area customers they’ve made a smart choice investing in GMC's line of trucks. GMC's commitment to professional grade is winning over more and more customers.

Meet the all-new 2018 GMC Terrain!

The GMC Terrain we know and love debuted in 2009, and has gone relatively unchanged since then--until now. Ladies and gentlemen, meet the all-new 2018 GMC Terrain! It's lighter and leaner, and sports a new range of fuel-efficient turbocharged engines -- including a diesel option. Yes, you read that correct, a diesel Terrain!

We'll get the big news out of the way. The 2018 Terrain is an all-new compact SUV. Simply put, "all-new" means the Terrain has been completely redesigned! GMC has elevated the Terrain's design to a major art form - from attention grabbing to unforgettable in every detail. The new design, with a "floating-roof look," creates the perfect integration of beauty and purpose. It shatters the status quo, and will no doubt be a popular choice for our Tulsa-area shoppers.

The new 2018 Terrain's shape was refined within GMC's high-tech wind tunnel. Which means every curve and angle on compact SUV was carefully sculpted to optimize fuel-efficiency with the least amount of drag. These changes, coupled with the new fuel-efficient turbocharged engines, will do wonders for gas mileage.

The all-new 2018 Terrain will offer three 4-cylinder turbocharged engines - a 1.5L gas, 2.0L gas, and 1.6L Turbo Diesel - all of which generate both power and efficiency. Transferring this performance to the road is a new 9-speed automatic transmission for the gas engines and a new 6-speed automatic transmission for the Turbo Diesel. We're eager to see how our Oklahoma drivers respond to the new engine options!

To meet the varied demands of your life, the 2018 Terrain can go from comfortably accommodating passengers to quickly and easily storing cargo. Whether you live the country life or city life, the redesigned 2018 GMC Terrain will bring a new joy to your drive.

Ferguson Buick GMC is expecting the new 2018 Terrain to arrive on at our Broken Arrow dealership in late summer 2017. To learn more about our lineup of new GMC models, contact us and we'll happily set you up with a test drive.

The 2018 GMC Terrain - coming soon to Oklahoma!

For many people who have not traversed across the great state of Oklahoma, the sooner state is seen as nothing more than flat farm land. Little do they know that Oklahoma; in fact, has the most diverse terrain in the United States (per mile). Several distinct forms of hills, plains, forests, prairies, and even mountains are found, right here, in Oklahoma!

With so much terrain to explore, it's no wonder many Oklahomans have chosen a vehicle that can easily accommodate both passengers, and cargo, comfortably in any environment. Which vehicle am I speaking of, why the GMC Terrain; of course! Soon, Oklahomans will be able roam 'Native America' in a whole new look!

The upcoming 2018 GMC Terrain offers more functionality, more available advanced safety technologies, and more engineering excellence than any Terrain before it!

The look of the new 2018 GMC Terrain shatters the status quo. It is a striking design with functional beauty. Exterior highlights include: a new “floating” roof, striking c-shaped headlamps, stunning 19" wheels, and a bolder front grille. GMC's engineers painstakingly perfected every curve, every line, and every angle on the new 2018 Terrain to make the new look unforgettable.

The exterior of the 2018 Terrain, is not the only thing GMC's engineers refreshed. The interior is every bit as refined as the exterior. It includes a new rotary dial shifter that replaces its predecessor's conventional shift lever. And under the hood, things get even better! The all-new 2018 Terrain gives our Oklahoma drivers the choice between three all-new available turbocharged propulsion systems, including a new turbo-diesel.

Ferguson Buick GMC is proud to be able to bring the 2018 GMC Terrain to Oklahoma! The new SUV is expected to arrive on our Broken Arrow lot by late summer 2017. Explore Oklahoma like never before, in the new 2018 Terrain!

2017 Buick Envision - the New SUV Safety Leader!

In the last decade Buick's engineers have put a special emphasis on safety. In fact, in the last two consecutive model years, every Buick model has earned five-star overall vehicle score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). And now, the 2017 Buick Envision has earned a spot among the rest of them.

The 2017 Buick Envision has earned a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score for Safety rating by NHTSA.

From the beginning, Buick designed the Envision with safety, quality and craftsmanship in mind. The Buick Envision is a nimble SUV with its smart size and ingenious technologies. It utilizes a combination of five cameras and 13 radar and ultrasonic sensors around the vehicle to help offer owners peace of mind behind the wheel.

The 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score for Safety rating by NHTSA is not the only safety accolade the 2017 Envision has earned. Earlier this year, the 2017 Buick Envision, with optional front crash prevention and high intensity discharge (HID) headlights, was named a 2017 Top Safety Pick+ by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

Earning top ratings from some of the industry’s most important safety organizations confirms that the 2017 Buick Envision was crafted to an exceptional degree of refinement. The top safety rating also further builds the Buick brand’s reputation as a leader in quality and safety.

Buick's newest compact SUV, the Buick Envision, arrived at our Broken Arrow dealership early this summer; since then, we've helped drivers from cities all across Oklahoma discover the luxuries the new Envision has to offer. There's Ferguson Buick Envisions driving around Tulsa, Bixby and Norman. We've even sold the Buick Envision to people outside Oklahoma; places like Abilene and Temple, Texas. There's even a Buick Envision, with a Ferguson sticker, driving around the streets of New Orleans!

Is There a New Wagon Coming From Buick - the Regal Wagon?

On this blog, we spend most of our time discussing news that relates to Buick and GMC that happens here in America; more specifically here in Oklahoma. For the moment we turn our attention, across the Atlantic, to Europe.

It's no secret that Americans and Europeans have different taste in vehicle preferences. Trucks, for example, are much more popular in Oklahoma and the United States, than in Europe.

There's one vehicle that our European counterparts have the privilege of driving that we don't - the Buick Regal Wagon. Now, in Europe, it's not known as the Buick Regal. In England, the vehicle is known as the Vauxhall Insignia, and in the rest of Europe as the Opel Insignia. Both the Vauxhall Insignia and the Opel Insignia have an available wagon design option.

Europen version of the Buick Regal Wagon
Even with the apparent contrasts between American drivers and European drivers, a wagon version of the Buick Regal sounds quite appealing. It could also soon become a reality! There's good rumor, that GM will soon be bringing the Buick Regal Wagon to American shores.

Here at Ferguson Buick GMC, in Broken Arrow, we welcome the news. We think our Oklahoma shoppers would love the option of the Buick Regal as a wagon! So, to GM we say bring the wagon over!

We want to know what you think! Would you like to see a Buick Regal Wagon offered in the United States? Tell us below, in the comment section.

Updated 03/21/17

Buick is indeed bringing a Regal wagon to the United States! In an article published by Automotive News [1] spy photos have been captured of the upcoming 2018 Buick Regal wagon!

General Motors trademarked the name "Buick Regal TourX" in 2015. Will the new Buick wagon be called the Buick Regal TourX? We shouldn't have to wait long to find out the answer. Buick is scheduled to reveal the new 2018 Buick Regal on April 4, 2017; just ahead of the New York Auto Show.

2017 Buick Cascada Touring Now Offered in New 'Sport Red' Color

Oklahoma has a deep connection with the color red. The name Oklahoma is actually derived from two Choctaw words, "ukla" meaning person and "homma" meaning red. Foreigners can easily tell they've landed in the sooner state, thanks to Oklahoma's instantly recognizable red clay soil. Plus, Oklahoma is the only state that has rose rock. Rose rock has a red coloring and petal-like shape, similar to that of a rose. And then, of course, there is OU. Fans of the University of Oklahoma are passionate about one very specific shade of red - crimson.

Buick released the all-new Cascada convertible early this year. The convertible has been an instant hit with our Oklahoma shoppers who want to live life wide open. However, when it was first released, the Cascada was only available in half a dozen color options; and red was not one of them. We knew a lot of our Oklahoma shoppers were interested in the Buick Cascada, but wanted it in their favorite color. It looks like Buick has answered those calls!

If your dream is to drive a red convertible, the latest Buick Cascada Sport Touring color — Sport Red —can make that a reality. Buick says the new color option is being offered in response to customers who asked for a shade of red. Buick's Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing, Duncan Aldred, stated the following, "We’ve heard it from customers all year: ‘What a beautiful car. Can I get it in red?’ Well yes, now you can!" We expect the new color to be a big hit for our Oklahoma customers.

Along with the sport red exterior color option, Buick is giving the new Sport Touring Cascada an exclusive Dark Effects Package. The Dark Effects Package features as body-color trim across the decklid, and gloss-black finish on the convertibles 20" wheels, mirror caps, and grille. On the inside, the package adds new red stitching that contrasts the seats, doors, and instrument panel. The Dark Effects Package is paired exclusively with the new Sport Red exterior color.

This new addition to the Cascada portfolio offers a modern style statement with blacked-out exterior trim and red interior stitching, all at a price that leaves room in your budget to explore the open road.

The new Sport Touring Cascada in Sport Red with the exclusive Dark Effects package is the second unique expression added to Buick’s convertible lineup this year. Earlier this fall, the 2017 Cascada Sport Touring launched with a vibrant True Blue exterior color, an exclusive new 20-inch wheel design and sporty interior trim.

Buick Announces New Avenir Sub-Brand

Buick is on a roll! The Detroit brand has recorded the highest year-over-year growth for major auto brands selling vehicles in both China and North America. Buick's global sales grew 23% year-over-year. More recently, Buick, became the first American automaker to break into the top three "most reliable brands" on Consumer Reports' Auto Reliability Survey.

Buick's resurgent appeal hasn't skipped over Oklahoma. Ferguson Buick GMC, in the Tulsa-metro, has seen a 205% increase in new Buick sales over the last four years! Meaning a growing set of new Oklahoma drivers are discovering the unexpected and attainable luxury Buick has to offer.

Buick is more than happy to ride its recently achieved success into the coming future, but has no plans on letting up. While Buick is synonymous with luxury, it's about to push the boundaries even further with the launch of a new sub-brand - the Avenir line.

It's that focus on the future that even inspired the new sub-brand's name (Avenir is French for future). Buick first introduced the Avenir name on its concept sedan at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. The Buick Avenir was an instant success, winning many awards and accolades, including EyesOn Design Award for the “Best Designed Concept Vehicle.”

Buick's Avenir sub-brand will be essentially what the Denali brand is to GMC. It will be the top luxury trim level of the Buick line-up, including the Buick LaCrosse, Buick Enclave, Buick Encore, Buick Envision, Buick Regal, and Buick Cascada.

Avenir vehicles will add distinct touches to Buick’s timeless, sculpted designs, including unique trim finishes, large-diameter wheels, and a three-dimensional mesh grille. Buick's Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing, Duncan Aldred, says the Avenir sub-brand will be "The highest expression of the luxury experiences we’re delivering now and in the future.”

The Buick Avenir Concept flagship sedan

Ferguson Buick GMC expects to see the Buick Avenir line do quite well here in Oklahoma. Currently, about a quarter of our new GMC sales are Denali models. Denali is the pinnacle of what it means to be Professional Grade, and if GM's engineers are able to recreate that feeling of top-level quality in the Avenir models, as they have in the Denali line, there should be a loyal fan-base of Avenir owners in the near future.

Ferguson Buick GMC is excited to bring the high-end, luxury experience of the Buick Avenir line to Northeast Oklahoma, and the Tulsa Metro! Additional Avenir details and product specifics will be announced later. Follow Ferguson on Facebook and be the first to know when we are able to bring the Avenir line to Oklahoma!

GMC Sierra was named the 2016 Texas Truck Showdown Towing Champion

It may come as no surprise that trucks are quite popular in Texas. When it comes to US roads, Texas leads the way with more than 300,000 total miles of roads and streets. That's not including the back roads in the Texan countryside. With so much terrain to cover, it's no wonder way Texans rely on capable trucks to commute.

But what truck is the best option for truck lovers in Texas? Well, that'd be the GMC Sierra. The GMC Sierra was named the 2016 Texas Truck Showdown Towing Champion, in a head-to-head capability test conducted by editors from MrTruck.com, PickupTrucks.com, and Cars.com.

The Sierra went head-to-head against the Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition with the 5.7L V-8, Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn with the 5.7L V-8, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ with the 5.3L V-8, Ford F-150 Lariat with the 3.5L V-6 EcoBoost and came out on top! Beating the competition with its powerful – 420 hp and 460 lb-ft – engine; the most powerful engine out of the group. The Sierra beat the competition in fuel economy, with a trailer attached, as well.

The editors of the 2016 Texas Truck Showdown praised the Sierra 1500 SLT test truck, for its effortless performance. It offered a max trailering rating of 12,000 lbs. PickupTrucks.com editor, Mark Williams, had the following to say about the GMC Sierra's performance, "This is a mild-mannered pickup that is ready to don its cape and do some heavy lifting, saving the day from a long list of work chores. The engine and transmission are synced up like a smooth-flying jet rocket."

Being crowned the 2016 Texas Truck Showdown Towing Champion validates everything GMC stands for: powerful truck capability uniquely coupled with premium appointments and refinement. Combined crafted interior with bold new styling for 2016, the Sierra handles the toughest tasks in the utmost comfort.

The 2016 Sierra 1500 boasts a bold new look thanks to a new grille, new headlamps with GMC signature LED lighting, available LED tail lights, and distinctive trim elements designed for each trim level. 2016 Sierra HD models are also available with a new Digital Steer Assist system, which eases driving and maneuvering a heavy-duty pickup.

While there's no shortage of truck lovers in the Lone Star state, over the border, here in Oklahoma, we’re seeing an increasing number of truck fans. Northeast Oklahoma, in particular, is commonly known has Green Country, but might soon be known as Truck Country. As America’s fastest growing GMC dealer, we’ve seen the popularity of the GMC Sierra explode here in the sooner state. The GMC Sierra is Ferguson Buick GMC’s highest selling model.

Although we’re based in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, we can serve both Oklahoma and Texas. Take a look at some of our recent GMC Sierra owners from both Oklahoma and Texas:

Tim and Amanda Miller drove 7 hours - from Austin, TX to Broken Arrow, OK - to pick up their brand-new 2016 GMC Sierra Denali at Ferguson Buick GMC!

Charles Young came from Glenpool, Oklahoma to Broken Arrow, OK to purchase their new 2016 GMC Sierra SLT. Mr. Young had the following to say about their Ferguson Buick GMC experience, "Jack Jewell [our sales rep] was great! You have a customer for life! Finance didn't take forever like other dealerships. Very impressed! If I wasn't interested in any extra packages or rims he didn't push them on me. That's what I was impressed with the most."

2016 Buick Drive For Your Students with Broken Arrow High School

BAHS' Jason Jedamski, Fergie Bear and Cody Teegerstrom
Ferguson Buick GMC has been a part of the Broken Arrow community for over 25 years - a quarter of a century! We've always made it our goal to give back to our community. One group, in particular, that the Ferguson family especially loves to invest in is the Broken Arrow youth. That's why we were honored to partner with the Broken Arrow High School for our most recent Buick Drive For Your Students.

Schools are constantly seeking dynamic opportunities to support their extracurricular activities, sports programs and graduation projects. With Oklahoma's recent education budget cuts, it's become increasingly difficult for schools to provide funding for these types of events and activities. As an integral part of the community, Ferguson Buick GMC wanted to help our local school. So we partnered with Broken Arrow School during our 2016 Buick Drive For Your Students fundraiser.

The Buick Driver For Your Students fundraising event works like this: Our dealership works with a local, public high school to host a one day test drive event to raise money for their school. Buick will donate $10 for every valid test drive taken. If the event exceeds 100 test drives, Buick will double their donation to $20 per valid test drive. Up to $10,000 can be raised for the school from a single event! And to top it off, each participant that chooses to receive communication from GM will be eligible for the GM Educator’s Discount.

The Broken Arrow High School is a true pillar to our community. It was our honor to work with BAHS during this fundraising event. The school is planning on using the proceeds as part of their Project Graduation campaign.

We hope to be able to work with Broken Arrow High School, for next year's Buick Drive For Your Students. Stay tuned to our Facebook page, to learn more about next year's fundraising event; we hope you'll show up, take the wheel, and accelerate a better future for our community!

Buick Envision Coming to Oklahoma in 2016

Adele's new hit song, "Hello" has garnered popularity across the states; claiming the #1 spot on numerous American music charts. As the pop song continues to climb the charts, Americans are also saying hello to CUVs - crossover utility vehicles. Sales for subcompact crossovers are increasing across the board. Buick, American's oldest active automobile maker, is attracting many of these new CUV customers with their lineup of beautiful sculpted, luxurious crossovers.

Buick's current crossover lineup - the Buick Enclave and Buick Encore - represent 60% of Buick sales in North America. The CUV craze hasn't skipped over Oklahoma. Here at our Tulsa Metro dealership, our new Buick crossover sales represented over 70% of our new Buick sales in 2015. Buick looks to reinforce their dominance in the SUV and CUV market with the introduction of the Buick Envision.

http://www.fergusonbuickgmc.com/2016_Buick_Envision

Although the Buick Envision will be a new CUV offered in America, it's not a brand new model for Buick. The Buick Envision has been in sell in China since 2014. It was awarded Motor Trend SUV of the Year in China and has accumulated nearly 130,000 sales so far this year. Thankfully, Buick will soon be bringing the Buick Envision to American soil.

Buick has already begun preparations for its release in the United States. The Buick Envision was designed, engineered and tested in Michigan as a world-class luxury crossover.

Both the Buick Encore and Buick Enclave are award winning crossovers. They both won Kelley Blue Book's '5-Year Cost to Own Award' - the Encore in the Luxury Compact SUV/Crossover category and the Enclave in the luxury Full-Size SUV/Crossover category. And, the vehicles are winning the hearts of our Tulsa area shoppers. One recent Ferguson Buick GMC customer, Deborah had the following to say about her new Buick Encore, "I bought a 2015 Buick Encore and love it!" Another Ferguson Buick GMC customer, Terry, recently purchased a new Buick Enclave and exclaimed, "I Absolutely love my new 2015 Buick Enclave. Ferguson delivered! They stepped up on pricing and service. Ferguson Buick GMC is worthy of repeat business."

With the success we've seen of the Encore and Enclave, we expect the new Buick Envision to quickly become a hot seller here in Oklahoma. We're excited to bring the new Buick Envision to Oklahoma! The Buick Envision is expected to arrive at our Broken Arrow dealership next summer - summer 2016.

Ferguson Buick GMC Helps Raise over $4,600 for Local Tulsa Area High School

Many schools across the country have faced increasing budget cuts. These budget cuts have affected schools' extracurricular activities and sports programs. As an integral part of the community, Ferguson Buick GMC has set out to help raise funds for a local Tulsa area school. For the second year in a row, Ferguson Buick GMC partnered with Coweta High School, in Coweta, Oklahoma.

Ferguson Buick GMC held another successful "Buick Drive For Your Students" event at Coweta High School. During Buick's "Drive For Your Students" event, Buick dealerships across the country are given the opportunity to team up with a public high school to host a one day test drive event to raise money for their school.

This year, similar to last year, we set up our test drive event in the front of Coweta High School. We brought over half a dozen new Buick and new GMC models for participants to take test drives in. We brought the new 2016 Buick Enclave, the 2016 Buick LaCrosse, along with the 2016 GMC Acadia and the ever-popular 2015 GMC Sierra pickup

The Buick Drive For Your Student event works like this: for every person who comes and takes a test drive, Buick donates $10 to the school. If the event exceeds 100 test drives, Buick will double their donation to $20 per valid test drive. As an extra bonus, each participant that chooses to receive communication from GM will be eligible for the GM Educator’s Discount. Our goal, this year, was to raise $10,000 for Coweta High School!

We didn't quite reach our goal, but thanks to everyone who came out and took a test drive, we were able to raise $4,660!

We're honored to have the opportunity to raise money for the students, teachers, and parents of Coweta High School! Coweta High School is in the process of completing many renovation projects. The school is building a new band facility, new wrestling room, and making changes to the football stadium. We feel the money raised during the Buick Test Drive For Your Students will be put to good use at Coweta High!

FERGUSON BUICK GMC WOULD LIKE TO THANK
COWETA HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPLE, GARY ELLIS, & EVERYBODY WHO PARTICIPATED IN A TEST DRIVE IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS DONATION POSSIBLE!

GMC Canyon Diesel: Coming soon to the Tulsa Metro!

Well, it's official folks! Our new truck shoppers will soon be able to purchase the 2016 Canyon fitted with a diesel engine! There had been rumors swirling since the release of the all-new GMC Canyon, back in 2015. Now we know, a diesel mid-sized truck from GMC will soon be a reality, and it was on the books from the start.

“A diesel engine was part of the Canyon’s portfolio plan from the beginning, meaning the chassis, suspension and other elements of its architecture were engineered to support it,” said Scott Yackley, assistant chief engineer.

The 2016 GMC Canyon diesel will be fitted with a the new 2.8L Duramax diesel engine. The new Duramax diesel takes the GMC Canyon's award-winning capabilities to a new level in the mid-sized truck segment. The engine gives the GMC Canyon a powerful advantage over the competition with 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The 2016 GMC Canyon diesel will be able to tow up to 7,700 pounds thanks to an all-new powertrain - expanding the trucks class-leading capabilities even more.

Several new technologies and supporting features complement the Duramax diesel’s capability while helping ensure GMC’s trademark refinement:
  • A new, electronically controlled two-speed transfer case on 4WD models
  • An all-new integrated trailer brake controller is standard and exclusive on diesel models
  • Smart diesel exhaust brake system that enhances vehicle control and reduces brake wear on steep grades
  • Standard Hydra-Matic 6L50 six-speed automatic transmission matched with a Centrifugal Pendulum Vibration Absorber in the torque converter, which reduces powertrain noise and vibration

In addition, the 2016 Canyon offers technologies and connectivity features such as GMC IntelliLink with new phone integration technology – and Apple CarPlay capability – OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot, Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning.

Additional engine features:
  • B20 bio-diesel capability
  • Common rail direct injection fuel system
  • 16.5:1 compression ratio
  • Piston-cooling oil jets
  • Forged steel crankshaft and connecting rods
  • Iron cylinder block and aluminum DOHC cylinder head
  • Balance shaft that contributes to smoothness and drives the oil pump
  • Ceramic glow plugs for shorter heat-up times and higher glow temperatures
  • Laminated steel oil pan with upper aluminum section that contributes to engine rigidity and quietness
  • Oiling circuit that includes a dedicated feed for the turbocharger to provide increased pressure at the turbo and faster oil delivery

Of course with Volkswagen’s diesel engine Environmental Protection Agency emission test cheating fallout, the new 2016 GMC Canyon diesel will have to be put through a new, more rigorous test from the EPA, but we're confident the mid-sized pickup will pass the test with flying colors; and so is GMC stating, "The Duramax 2.8L is the cleanest diesel truck engine ever produced by GM and meets some of the toughest U.S. emissions standards, thanks in part to a cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system."

The new 2016 GMC Canyon diesel will offer our Oklahoma truck enthusiasts exceptional capability delivered with a confident feeling of control. It's expected to arrive at our Tulsa Metro, Buick GMC dealership later this year.
