First Look at the Avenir Sub-Brand, with 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir

We finally get a look at the new Avenir luxury sub-brand from Buick, with the release of the all-new 2018 Buick Enclave Buick Avenir. Buick announced the Avenir sub-brand last fall, after the release of the award-winning concept car; of which Avenir draws its name. Avenir stands for future, and from the looks at the new Enclave Avenir, the future looks bright for Buick; Evonik Acrylite bright! 

Debuting with the 2018 Buick Enclave, the new Avenir sub-brand represents the highest expression of Buick luxury. Avenir offers unique styling cues and an extensive set of standard features and premium materials throughout the vehicle. New and versatile functionality, interior spaciousness, and intuitive technologies build on the Enclave’s established popularity. 

Aside from the unique dark-tented, 3D mesh grille, pearl-nickel 20" wheels, and a more athletic appearance one of the most notable features on the Buick Avenir model - that will gradually transfer over to a full range of Avenir models - is the SUV's Evonik Acrylite head lamps. The Evonik Acrylite exterior lighting is a Buick-first and will illuminate the road ahead with the power of more than 100 LEDs. 

Why has Buick chosen the Enclave SUV to launch the new Avenir sub-brand? Buick says the Enclave embodies the essence of the brand. It’s a beacon for the modern, attainable luxury Buick stands for and is a natural place to launch Avenir. 

"Buick-first" is a term that you'll hear a lot in the near future. Not only is the new Avenir sub-brand something totally new from Buick, since early last year Buick has introduced seven new models: including the recently released Regal hatchback and Regal Wagon. 

By the fourth quarter of this year, Buick will have the freshest, most modern line-up of vehicles in the industry, with every model being less than 21 months old! Enclave Avenir highlights:

• Available intelligent AWD with active twin-clutch rear differential and Buick-first switchable AWD help improve control and efficiency. 
• Standard five-link rear suspension and available continuously variable real-time damping (CDC) offer a refined, isolated ride. 
• A standard 3.6L V-6 engine with stop/start technology, Buick-estimated 302 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. 
• Tow capacity of up to 5,000 pounds is more than enough to tow a typical 21-foot sport boat. 
• Buick-first Evonik Acrylite lighting technology provides a distinctive light signature. 
• Buick-first Rear Camera Mirror is standard on Avenir. Avenir-exclusive 3-dimensional mesh grille, badging, pearl nickel 20-inch aluminum wheels and luxurious interior materials are standard. 
• Standard hands-free power-programmable liftgate with a Buick tri-shield logo illuminates the ground below the hidden sensor and power-folding third row. 
• It accommodates seven passengers comfortably and offers more cargo volume behind the first row than the Acura MDX, Audi Q7 and Infiniti QX60.

Buick Announces New Avenir Sub-Brand

Buick is on a roll! The Detroit brand has recorded the highest year-over-year growth for major auto brands selling vehicles in both China and North America. Buick's global sales grew 23% year-over-year. More recently, Buick, became the first American automaker to break into the top three "most reliable brands" on Consumer Reports' Auto Reliability Survey. 

Buick's resurgent appeal hasn't skipped over Oklahoma. Ferguson Buick GMC, in the Tulsa-metro, has seen a 205% increase in new Buick sales over the last four years! Meaning a growing set of new Oklahoma drivers are discovering the unexpected and attainable luxury Buick has to offer. 

Buick is more than happy to ride its recently achieved success into the coming future, but has no plans on letting up. While Buick is synonymous with luxury, it's about to push the boundaries even further with the launch of a new sub-brand - the Avenir line. 

It's that focus on the future that even inspired the new sub-brand's name (Avenir is French for future). Buick first introduced the Avenir name on its concept sedan at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. The Buick Avenir was an instant success, winning many awards and accolades, including EyesOn Design Award for the “Best Designed Concept Vehicle.” 

Buick's Avenir sub-brand will be essentially what the Denali brand is to GMC. It will be the top luxury trim level of the Buick line-up, including the Buick LaCrosse, Buick Enclave, Buick Encore, Buick Envision, Buick Regal, and Buick Cascada. 

Avenir vehicles will add distinct touches to Buick’s timeless, sculpted designs, including unique trim finishes, large-diameter wheels, and a three-dimensional mesh grille. Buick's Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing, Duncan Aldred, says the Avenir sub-brand will be "The highest expression of the luxury experiences we’re delivering now and in the future.”

Ferguson Buick GMC expects to see the Buick Avenir line do quite well here in Oklahoma. Currently, about a quarter of our new GMC sales are Denali models. Denali is the pinnacle of what it means to be Professional Grade, and if GM's engineers are able to recreate that feeling of top-level quality in the Avenir models, as they have in the Denali line, there should be a loyal fan-base of Avenir owners in the near future.
