2017 Buick Cascada Touring Now Offered in New 'Sport Red' Color

Oklahoma has a deep connection with the color red. The name Oklahoma is actually derived from two Choctaw words, "ukla" meaning person and "homma" meaning red. Foreigners can easily tell they've landed in the sooner state, thanks to Oklahoma's instantly recognizable red clay soil. Plus, Oklahoma is the only state that has rose rock. Rose rock has a red coloring and petal-like shape, similar to that of a rose. And then, of course, there is OU. Fans of the University of Oklahoma are passionate about one very specific shade of red - crimson.

Buick released the all-new Cascada convertible early this year. The convertible has been an instant hit with our Oklahoma shoppers who want to live life wide open. However, when it was first released, the Cascada was only available in half a dozen color options; and red was not one of them. We knew a lot of our Oklahoma shoppers were interested in the Buick Cascada, but wanted it in their favorite color. It looks like Buick has answered those calls!

If your dream is to drive a red convertible, the latest Buick Cascada Sport Touring color — Sport Red —can make that a reality. Buick says the new color option is being offered in response to customers who asked for a shade of red. Buick's Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing, Duncan Aldred, stated the following, "We’ve heard it from customers all year: ‘What a beautiful car. Can I get it in red?’ Well yes, now you can!" We expect the new color to be a big hit for our Oklahoma customers.

Along with the sport red exterior color option, Buick is giving the new Sport Touring Cascada an exclusive Dark Effects Package. The Dark Effects Package features as body-color trim across the decklid, and gloss-black finish on the convertibles 20" wheels, mirror caps, and grille. On the inside, the package adds new red stitching that contrasts the seats, doors, and instrument panel. The Dark Effects Package is paired exclusively with the new Sport Red exterior color.

This new addition to the Cascada portfolio offers a modern style statement with blacked-out exterior trim and red interior stitching, all at a price that leaves room in your budget to explore the open road.

The new Sport Touring Cascada in Sport Red with the exclusive Dark Effects package is the second unique expression added to Buick’s convertible lineup this year. Earlier this fall, the 2017 Cascada Sport Touring launched with a vibrant True Blue exterior color, an exclusive new 20-inch wheel design and sporty interior trim.

Buick's New Convertible: The 2016 Buick Cascada

According to statistics from the Tulsa International Airport [1], Tulsa has a yearly average temperature of 60.8 °F. If that’s not perfect weather a convertible, we don’t know what is. We’ve been waiting for GM to bring a convertible back into the Buick or GMC line-up for some time now. It looks like Buick has answered our calls! Are you ready Oklahoma? Get ready to enjoy summer like never before, get ready for the all-new 2016 Buick Cascada

For the first time in 25 years, Buick adds a convertible to the new Buick line-up.

“The new, 2016 Buick Cascada is a beautiful, engaging convertible that represents the very best of the brand’s global development practices,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Buick. “It’s a car that will delight customers with its fun spirit and help drive the momentum that’s fueling Buick’s success.”

One look at the Cascada, and you’ll know you’re about to experience the pure fun of driving. The 2016 Buick Cascada is a dynamic, stylish convertible that uses innovative powertrain and chassis technologies to complement the driving experience. Attention to detail and purposeful technologies elevate your expectations of just how satisfying a convertible can be. Balanced proportions and an elongated silhouette create a beautiful and luxurious profile.

Cascada means waterfall in Spanish. But if you’re worried about an unexpected waterfall to come down from sky and ruin your nice drive, no need. When it comes to dropping the top on a whim, it lowers in only 17 seconds at speeds up to 31 mph, keeping you dry and comfortable. When it’s up, superior thermal and acoustic insulation contribute to driving comfort. The soft-top lets you enjoy a surprisingly quiet interior. As soon as the rain dissipates, drop the top with a flick of a switch and continue enjoying the great outdoors. When lowered, the top folds neatly and completely beneath a hard tonneau behind the rear seats, giving the car a pure open-air aesthetic.

The 2016 Buick Cascada features Buick’s innovative OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot, which can also be found on 2015 Buick models, including the 2015 Buick LaCrosse and 2015 Buick Encore

4G LTE is the most current and fastest mobile data network - 10 times faster than 3G and 100 times faster than the previous generation of OnStar hardware. And with OnStar, it also offers stronger, broader coverage than smartphones on the same network and it's easy to use: If the vehicle is on, the connection is on. It provides a mobile hub for drivers and passengers to stay connected. The hotspot is on whenever the vehicle is on and comes with a three-month/three-gigabyte data trial, after which customers can purchase additional data.

The new 2016 Buick Cascada will be powered by a 1.6L turbocharged engine rated at 200 horsepower (149 kW). With more than 100 horsepower per liter, it’s one of the most power-dense engines in the segment. Direct injection and variable valve timing complement the turbo engine’s performance with efficiency. It is backed by a six-speed automatic transmission. Power from the turbocharged engine is translated into driving enjoyment via the innovative suspension system, which employs the sophisticated HiPer Strut front suspension pioneered on the Buick LaCrosse and Buick Regal.

The Cascada’s 2+2 configuration offers comfortable room for four adults.

“The Cascada’s design blends the suggestion of speed with sophisticated and uncompromising details,” said Holt Ware, Buick exterior design director. “Most convertibles are designed from existing coupes or sedans, meaning stowage of the top is an afterthought, but not this Buick. It looks handsome and has a premium appearance when the top is lowered – and a perfect, seamless profile when it’s up.”

Live life wide-open with the all-new Cascada convertible. Buick has planned production of the new Cascada for early 2016. Be the first to drive the 2016 Buick Cascada in Broken Arrow and Oklahoma.
