4 Years In a Row GMC Claims KBB 'Brand Image Award'

For over 90 years Kelley Blue Book has been producing vehicle evaluation information that consumers trust. One evaluation, in particular, is KBB.com's Brand Image Award. Winners of the Brand Image Award are based on consumer automotive perception data from Kelley Blue Book Strategic Insights’ Brand Watch™ study. Winners of the award score high on important factors that matter to new car shoppers, and have a positive perception among consumers.

Over the past four years, GMC has dominated KBB's Brand Image Award. GMC has won the 2017 Brand Image Award; making it the fourth consecutive year for GMC to claim the prestigious award.

KBB.com's executive editorial director, Jack Nerad, had the following to say about GMC's achievement, "GMC’s ‘Professional Grade’ ideology has struck a resonant chord with consumers, and that’s reflected in car buyers visiting Kelley Blue Book’s website, KBB.com, naming GMC 2017’s Most Refined Brand. The extra attention to design and detail found across GMC’s lineup has clearly resonated with American consumers."

Receiving the Most Refined Brand award for a fourth consecutive year reflects GMC’s commitment to our core brand pillars. Consumers appreciate GMC’s ability to deliver bold, capable and precisely crafted vehicles that fit their lifestyle. Tulsans, in particular, are flocking to GMC trucks; such as the GMC Canyon and GMC Sierra. These trucks sets the bar high with purposeful technology inside and out.

Kelley Blue Book, in years past, has also acknowledged GMC's Denali sub-brand as the highest expression of premium vehicles, for continuing to elevate the brand’s overall perception among consumers.

GMC's sister company, Buick, has recently released a premium sub-brand of their own called the Avenir. The Avenir sub-brand will represent the highest expression of Buick luxury; just like Denali has demonstrated with GMC. You can read more about the Avenir sub-brand here

New 445 Horsepower Heavy-Duty Duramax Engine From GM

GMC’s heavy-duty trucks, fitted with the Duramax engine, deliver superior capability and power. The GMC Duramax engine can be counted on to get the job done, and is increasingly looked to by working professionals. GMC’s Duramax engine has forged a bond with customers based on capability and trust. GMC has sold nearly 2 million vehicles powered by the Duramax engine, over the past 15 years.

new 6.6L L5P Duramax turbo-diesel V-8 engine
GMC has now taken the Duramax engine to new heights with the release of the new 6.6L L5P Duramax turbo-diesel V-8 engine destined for GMC’s 2017 model year heavy-duty pickup trucks; including the new 2017 GMC Sierra HD. The redesigned Duramax engine offers more torque and horsepower than ever before, enabling easier trailering and hauling.

The new 6.6L L5P Duramax turbo-diesel V-8 engine will pump out 445 horses and 910 pound-feet of torque! That’s a 19% increase in max torque over the outgoing Duramax 6.6L! Along with greater torque and more horsepower, the redesigned turbo-diesel Duramax engine is also much quieter. In fact, engine noise, at idle, is reduced 38%.

The impressive power of the new Duramax engine wouldn’t be possible without the proper amount of air intake. The engineers at GMC have created a new, patent-pending vehicle air intake system that drives cool, dry air into the engine for sustained performance. Cooler air helps the engine run better, especially in conditions where engine and transmission temperatures can rise quickly. That allows the Duramax to maintain more power and vehicle speed when trailering in the toughest conditions.

The new intake design is distinguished on the 2017 GMC Sierra HD, by a bold hood scoop, and is another example of the advanced integration included in the 2017 Sierra HD that makes it over-the-road capable.

2017 GMC Sierra Denali 2500 HD

The new Duramax 6.6L is matched with the Allison 1000 six-speed automatic transmission. The transmission has undergone several refinements to accommodate for the new engine’s higher torque capacity, including a new torque converter. The Allison 1000’s Tow/Haul mode reduces shift cycling for improved cooling and better control when towing or hauling heavy loads.

A new, smart diesel exhaust-brake feature enhances control when descending steep grades. The integrated exhaust-brake system makes trailering less stressful by creating additional backpressure in the exhaust, resulting in negative torque during deceleration and downhill driving, enhancing driver control and prolonging brake pad life. A new electronically controlled, variable-vane turbocharger helps the engine make more power, and revisions to enhance the capability of the exhaust-brake system.

GMC Canyon & GMC Sierra Win KBB's Best Resale Value Award, Two Years In a Row

Across the country, both the GMC Canyon and GMC Sierra trucks are winning over more and more customers daily. The same is true for our Tulsa area shoppers here in Oklahoma. At our Broken Arrow dealership, our GMC Canyon sales increased by 46% from the first half of 2015 to the second half, and our Sierra sales increased by 65% from the first half of 2015 to the second half of the year.

These trucks are designed to deliver capability with refinement and style. GMC's commitment to excellence has clearly resonated with drivers. But, don't simply take our word for it, the proof is in the ever expanding list of awards and accolades the GMC Canyon and GMC Sierra continue to pile up.

Earlier this year, the GMC Canyon won Cars.com Midsize Pickup Challenge for its segment-leading capabilities and efficiency. The mid-sized truck was also awarded Autoweek's “Best of the Best Truck for 2015,” and WardsAuto recognized the Canyon as one of its 10 Best Interiors for 2015. While the 2015 GMC Sierra 3500HD won Cars.com "Ultimate Heavy Duty Challenge," a comprehensive test of one-ton diesel dually trucks, revealing Sierra 3500 HD winner over both the Ford F-350 and Ram 3500.

We're pleased to announce another award to add these trucks’ list of credentials. Both the GMC Canyon and Sierra are again being recognized among the Top 10 in Kelley Blue Book’s Best Resale Value Awards. It’s the second consecutive year both GMC models have been ranked in the Top 10.

Kelley Blue Book 2016 Official Residual Value Guide predicts Canyon and Sierra will retain the highest percentage of their original suggested retail prices over the first five years of ownership.

GMC's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Duncan Aldred, had the following to say about the trucks' accomplishment, "This recognition affirms everything this brand stands for and provides greater assurance for our customers that they’ve made a smart choice investing in GMC."

2016 GMC Sierra Denali

The 2016 GMC Sierra rolled off the lot with a refreshed exterior appearance and offers our Tulsa area shoppers new engineering features, such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Available Tri-Mode Power Steps, and advanced safety features, such as Lane Keep Assist. Learn more about the 2016 GMC Sierra here, with video!

2016 GMC Canyon

For 2016, the Canyon is offered with a new diesel engine that delivers the segment’s highest EPA-rated fuel economy: 31 mpg highway (two-wheel drive). GMC has also revealed new information about the upcoming 2017 GMC Canyon; which you can read here.

GMC Canyon Diesel: Coming soon to the Tulsa Metro!

Well, it's official folks! Our new truck shoppers will soon be able to purchase the 2016 Canyon fitted with a diesel engine! There had been rumors swirling since the release of the all-new GMC Canyon, back in 2015. Now we know, a diesel mid-sized truck from GMC will soon be a reality, and it was on the books from the start.

“A diesel engine was part of the Canyon’s portfolio plan from the beginning, meaning the chassis, suspension and other elements of its architecture were engineered to support it,” said Scott Yackley, assistant chief engineer.

http://www.fergusonbuickgmc.com/2016_GMC_Canyon

The 2016 GMC Canyon diesel will be fitted with a the new 2.8L Duramax diesel engine. The new Duramax diesel takes the GMC Canyon's award-winning capabilities to a new level in the mid-sized truck segment. The engine gives the GMC Canyon a powerful advantage over the competition with 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The 2016 GMC Canyon diesel will be able to tow up to 7,700 pounds thanks to an all-new powertrain - expanding the trucks class-leading capabilities even more.

Several new technologies and supporting features complement the Duramax diesel’s capability while helping ensure GMC’s trademark refinement:
  • A new, electronically controlled two-speed transfer case on 4WD models
  • An all-new integrated trailer brake controller is standard and exclusive on diesel models
  • Smart diesel exhaust brake system that enhances vehicle control and reduces brake wear on steep grades
  • Standard Hydra-Matic 6L50 six-speed automatic transmission matched with a Centrifugal Pendulum Vibration Absorber in the torque converter, which reduces powertrain noise and vibration

In addition, the 2016 Canyon offers technologies and connectivity features such as GMC IntelliLink with new phone integration technology – and Apple CarPlay capability – OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot, Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning.

Additional engine features:
  • B20 bio-diesel capability
  • Common rail direct injection fuel system
  • 16.5:1 compression ratio
  • Piston-cooling oil jets
  • Forged steel crankshaft and connecting rods
  • Iron cylinder block and aluminum DOHC cylinder head
  • Balance shaft that contributes to smoothness and drives the oil pump
  • Ceramic glow plugs for shorter heat-up times and higher glow temperatures
  • Laminated steel oil pan with upper aluminum section that contributes to engine rigidity and quietness
  • Oiling circuit that includes a dedicated feed for the turbocharger to provide increased pressure at the turbo and faster oil delivery

Of course with Volkswagen’s diesel engine Environmental Protection Agency emission test cheating fallout, the new 2016 GMC Canyon diesel will have to be put through a new, more rigorous test from the EPA, but we're confident the mid-sized pickup will pass the test with flying colors; and so is GMC stating, "The Duramax 2.8L is the cleanest diesel truck engine ever produced by GM and meets some of the toughest U.S. emissions standards, thanks in part to a cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system."

The new 2016 GMC Canyon diesel will offer our Oklahoma truck enthusiasts exceptional capability delivered with a confident feeling of control. It's expected to arrive at our Tulsa Metro, Buick GMC dealership later this year.

2015 GMC Sierra VS 2015 Ford F-150

Oklahoma's Green Country is also often called truck country. Why? Well, perhaps it's because people in Tulsa and the surrounding communities love their trucks!

For those of you in the early stages of shopping for a new truck, and haven't done your research, you may be looking at both the 2015 GMC Sierra and the 2015 Ford F-150. We'd like to prove to you why the Ford F-150 is no match compared to the GMC Sierra.

There's really 4 main reasons the GMC Sierra is a far better truck than the Ford F-150: capability, efficiency, premium comfort, and G80 locking differential.

Capability
More maximum horsepower and torque than the Ford F-150
(420 hp/460 lb-ft torque with available 6.2L V8.)

Efficiency
Best V8 fuel economy of any full-size3 pickup — 16 city/23 highway MPG (2WD). Compared to Ford F-150’s 15 city/21 highway MPG (5.0L V8 2WD).

 Premium Comfort
A full two inches more of front-seat headroom than the Ford F-150.

G80 Locking Differential
Ford's F-150 has "Limited Slip Differential." The GMC Sierra is equipped with a G80 Locking Differential. The GMC Sierra does not slip, it locks!

 Watch Ferguson Buick GMC's
Mike Huff go in more detail about why
the GMC Sierra is the better than the Ford F-150!

Success Continues for the GMC Sierra & the 2015 Sierra Elevation Edition

It's hard to believe but it has been 17 years since the first GMC Sierra pickup truck touched down on American roadways. In that time span, the GMC Sierra has evolved to become the most powerful light duty pickup on the market. It's a truck that signifies GMC's tradition of Professional Grade. The GMC Sierra is our favorite pick up, and seems to be increasingly the favorite in Oklahoma as well.

The capabilities offered by the 2014 GMC Sierra and the new 2015 GMC Sierra are resonating with truck owners not just in Tulsa and Broken Arrow. The pickup's popularity has grown across the United States. We could talk all day about how impressive the GMC Sierra is, but we'll let the numbers do the talking.

The full-size Sierra pickup posted sales of 22,458 in November, up 57% year over year, marking the model’s best November ever.

A large part to the GMC Sierra's success has been a complete redesign of the pickup back in 2014. There wasn't much more truck lovers could ask for from the 2014 GMC Sierra, and yet GMC has managed to add even more innovation features to the new 2015 GMC Sierra.

The 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 adds an all-new eight-speed automatic transmission to its powertrain roster, enhancing efficiency and refinement while maintaining capability. The 2015 GMC Sierra also adds technologies that enhance connectivity, including Text Messaging Alerts, Siri Eyes Free and new, available OnStar with 4G LTE with a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot.

GMC's U.S. vice president of sales and marketing, Duncan Aldred, had the following to say about the success of the GMC Sierra pickup, “As evidenced by our November sales results, customers continue to turn to the Sierra for a pickup truck that’s both strong and stylish."

2015 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition

For anyone wanting a GMC Sierra with a little more pizzazz, the new 2015 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition might be exactly what you're looking for. The new 2015 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition is a uniquely styled full-size truck that combines a bold, monochromatic look with the latest connectivity technologies.

Aldred shed some light on the new Elevation Edition Sierra as well noting, “The Sierra Elevation Edition is all about expressive style and technology. Its customized appearance makes it a standout for style-conscious customers, while its technologies help keep them plugged into to their connected lifestyles.” The Sierra Elevation Edition is the perfect work / play truck for Green Country's truck enthusiasts.

Everyone here at Ferguson Superstore knows how much Oklahomans love their pickup trucks. Why not drive the most reliable, the most powerful light duty pickup on the market? The 2015 GMC Sierra pickup is available here at Ferguson Buick GMC. The 2015 Sierra Elevation Edition will soon be arriving at our Broken Arrow dealership. We're Broken Arrow's number 1 customer-voted dealer. Let us show you the Ferguson advantage. Ferguson Buick GMC has what you're looking for!
