2015 Canyon Broken Arrow, Tulsa Debut Inching Closer

We love our trucks here in Oklahoma, there’s no doubt about that. In fact, our Oklahoma customers at Ferguson Buick GMC purchased the GMC Sierra pick-up more than any other GMC model last year in 2013. Yes, the Sierra has been a hot seller here in Tulsa & Broken Arrow, but there’s a new truck coming to town, the 2015 GMC Canyon.

There’s been a lot of anticipating for the release of the 2015 GMC Canyon, GMC’s all-new mid-sized pickup. We’ve already got several eager buyers lining up to drove off in their new Canyon. And, everyone wants to know – when is Ferguson Buick GMC going to get GMC’s new truck? Well, we can tell you it is coming very, very soon. We will be the first to introduce the Canyon to Broken Arrow and the Tulsa metro.

Now, that might not be quite what you want to hear, if you’re aching for an exact release date. However, we do have more information about the ’15 Canyon to divulge – pricing. GMC has recently released pricing on the 2015 GMC Canyon. GMC’s set the MSRP at $21,880. When we get our hands on the ’15 Canyon, you can expect to find the price somewhere in the same ballpark. We do price our vehicles better than any of the competition at Ferguson Buick GMC, however.

The 2015 GMC Canyon is packed with capability and comfort. As we’ve mentioned on our GM blog, the ’15 Canyon is the little brother of the 1500 Sierra full-size pickup. Yet the smaller size does not sacrifice functionality or capability. Maneuverability is a top reason for choosing a midsize pickup. The 2015 GMC Canyon delivers the right size vehicle for consumers who are looking for a more agile pickup.

“We engineered the 2015 GMC Canyon to be very capable and functional for mid-size pick up owners,” said Anita Burke, vehicle chief engineer for Canyon. “We know customers have varied needs for a pickup in this segment, using their vehicle to commute to work during the week, transport children to school and other activities. But on the weekend, they have a very different set of needs that match their active lifestyles. The 2015 Canyon delivers on all these needs.”

The all-new Canyon provides a one-two punch that customers tell us they’ve been waiting for. Additionally, every 2015 Canyon will come with GMC's Pro Grade Protection, which, in addition to a five-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty and three-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, includes two years or 24,000 miles – whichever comes first – of standard scheduled maintenance.

We can't wait for the 2015 Canyon to join the new GMC lineup later this year. Until then, please visit Ferguson Buick GMC at our Broken Arrow, OK dealership to check out a new GMC model today!

2015 GMC Canyon Earns AutoTrader Top 10 Must Drive Award

Our Ferguson Buick GMC blog is a site dedicated to everyone from the person just now considering purchasing a new Buick or GMC to the biggest Buick/GMC enthusiast. We've designed this blog to give you, the reader, all the latest news, sales promotional information, and insightful tips in regards to purchasing a new Buick or GMC. Here at Ferguson Buick GMC, we always have our eyes and ears tuned into the latest automotive news.

Back in January, we broke the news to Tulsa that GMC released the all-new 2015 GMC Canyon, which debuted at the start of the year during the Detroit Auto Show. We can't wait for the 2015 Canyon to join the new GMC lineup later this year. The 2015 GMC Canyon will offer the [mid-size truck] segment's best available horsepower and highest maximum trailering rating. This truck will completely redefine the mid-sized pickup segment, and we can't wait to offer our Oklahoma and Green Country customer's the opportunity to test drive one of these magnificent machines.

Giving a vehicle a test drive before purchasing it is the only way to truly know for certain if the car, truck, SUV, or van you're considering buying has that right feel - that feeling you get when you just know that you've picked the right vehicle. Test driving a vehicle gives you more confidence and preparation to make the right decision when it's time to buy. The 2015 GMC Canyon will be one of those vehicles you should highly consider test driving.....but don't simply take our word for it.

AutoTrader.com named the new Canyon a Top 10 Must Drive Truck for 2014. The Top 10 Truck and SUV Must Drive award winners are new trucks and SUV's that AutoTrader determines as "a vehicle which offers something unexpected, that shoppers need to drive it to fully appreciate it."

2015 GMC Canyon mid-sized pickup

The winners, including the 2015 GMC Canyon, were selected from the top 100 most popular vehicles on AutoTrader.com, and had to excel in four key attributes including value, comfort, performance and style to be nominated.

Brian Moody, site editor of AutoTrader.com said: "GMC's new midsize Canyon challenges the notion that only full-size pickups can handle serious work. With a towing capacity of just under 7,000 lbs, the Canyon gets the job done. This truck is a baby Sierra in every way, including lots of comfort and tech features. The interior is nicer than any compact or midsize truck we've seen, plus there's tons of useful tech offered like 4G LTE connectivity with built in Wi-Fi hotspot, IntelliLink, OnStar, navigation and USB ports. The bottom line is the new GMC Canyon provides an unmatched combination of tough, tech and comfort, and that's exactly why it's on our Must Test Drive list."

Be sure to stay tuned to our blog for future details on the Canyon such as features, pricing and more. We'll have it available for you to test drive at our Broken Arrow dealership when it goes on sale this fall. You can find us in the Tulsa Metro; just off the Broken Arrow Expressway, across from the Bass Pro Shop.

Consider test driving the Canyon's bigger brother - the 2014 GMC Sierra.

GMC Reveals the All-New 2015 GMC Canyon

GMC has finally revealed the 2015 GMC Canyon!

Although, the 2014 Detroit Auto Show official kicked off today, GMC started things off early, revealing their mid-sized pick-up the night before. We mentioned we were anticipating the release of the GMC mid-sized truck in our Ferguson Buick GMC blog last week, and we welcome the early surprise release of the new Canyon; the 2015 Canyon appears to be one magnificent truck.

The exterior of the newest truck in the GMC family did, as expected, receive several design cues from the 2014 GMC Sierra. From the sculpted flowing lines and curved side panels, to the integrated rear bumper steps, the Canyon has a lot to thank from it's larger brother.

The Canyon also shares similarities between Chevrolet's newest mid-sized truck, the Chevy Colorado. The Canyon is powered by the same engine has the Colorado. The base 2015 Canyon has a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine with 193 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. Customers can trade up to the larger 3.6-liter V6 with 302 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. A 2.8L Duramax Turbo Diesel engine is soon expected, as well.

“The all-new 2015 Canyon completes GMC’s three-truck family, which started with the redesigned 2014 Sierra 1500 and 2015 Sierra HD,” said Tony DiSalle, vice president of GMC Marketing. “It rounds out a lineup that offers the broadest range of capabilities in the industry, giving truck customers more choices to find the vehicle that meets their professional, personal and lifestyle needs.

“Not everyone needs full-size capability, but they still deserve strength and true-truck attributes that come in larger models. The Canyon will offer all the capability with confidence – and GMC’s signature refinement that complements active lifestyles,” said DiSalle. “It also delivers the technology customers want with more standard features.”

GMC will begin production of the all-new 2015 GMC Canyon in the fall of 2014. The new mid-sized truck will be assembled not far from Oklahoma, at GM's Wentzville plant in Missouri.

Keep following our blog and check in with us on our Ferguson Superstore Facebook page to find out when we introduce the 2015 GMC Canyon to Tulsa, OK.

You can always test drive the 2014 GMC Sierra at our Broken Arrow dealership to get a feel for the driving and handling that is likely be similar to the 2015 Canyon.
