Guide to Tulsa Area Festivals in June

Green Country and the Greater Tulsa Area are coming off a very wet May - one of the wettest May's on record in fact. But now, with no rain in the weekly forecast and the beginning of a new month, it appears we might be able to get outdoors and do what Oklahomans do best; enjoy the summer! 


This past May rained on many a parade. June; however, is looking to provide some much needed relief, and there's plenty Oklahoma festivals and events for people in-and-around the Tulsa Area to enjoy. 

If you're looking to enjoy some of the best festivals in Oklahoma this month Ferguson Buick GMC's got you covered. Here’s a short list of some of the biggest Green Country festivals - guaranteed to offer no shortage of excellent food, live entertainment, and outdoor fun: 

Wagoner SummerFest – June 4-6 – The Wagoner SummerFest has been held since 1957. This festival features arts and crafts, live music, carnival, car and motorcycle show and lots of delicious foods. Event will be held on June 4-6, 2015 in Wagoner, Oklahoma.

Ponca City Herb Festival – June 6 – The Ponca City Herb Festival is a two-time recipient of the RedBud Merit Award, Outstanding Event category, from the Oklahoma Department of Tourism. The event promotes the joys of home gardening. You can find all sorts of things to buy from plants, birdhouses, and garden ornaments to herbal vinegars, handmade baskets, and soaps & candles.

Grand Lakes Fiddle Fest – June 11-13 – Held in Grove, Oklahoma, The Grand Lakes Fiddle Fest is certified by the National Oldtime Fiddlers' Contest (NOTFC) in Weiser, Idaho and is one of the top Fiddle Fest contests in the country. It's a wonderful family experience with incredible music featuring fiddle, flatpicking, mandolin, dobro, and banjo players. 

Historic Route 66 Wine and Food Festival – June 13 – The 5th annual Historic Route 66 Wine and Food Festival held in Strout, Oklahoma features over a dozen wineries from all across the great state of Oklahoma, live music, car show and a multitude of vendors featuring Made in Oklahoma Products. 

Black Gold Days – June 18-21 – Spanning across four days, the Black Gold Days in Glenpool, OK celebrate the city's rich oil history. The Glenn Pool oil field helped the Glenpool/Tulsa area prosper after its discovery in 1905. The festival attracts people from all across Oklahoma and surrounding states. It features a carnival, food vendors, free entertainment and a fireworks display. 

Bixby Green Corn Festival – June 25-27 – The Green Corn Festival features great music, arts and crafts, food, bingo, carnival, talent show, and the annual Green Corn Parade and corn eating contest. This Oklahoma festival a family-fun packed event not worth missing. The festival is held in downtown Bixby; just south of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
