2015 GMC Canyon |
GMC is expected to reveal the new truck next week, January 14th, at the Detroit Auto Show. All of us at Ferguson Buick GMC are very excited for the unveiling.
The mid-sized Canyon will likely borrow some design cues from the 2014 GMC Sierra (that’s a good thing!) and the 2015 Chevy Colorado. The 2014 Sierra has quickly climbed to become a respected leader for truck owners. Although we haven’t seen the entire 2015 Canyon, based off the success of the 2014 GMC Sierra, we know for our Oklahoman customers who find the full-sized pickups a tad bulky, the new Canyon will be a perfect fit.
GMC trucks deliver the efficiency, capability, power and performance that truly earns the name Professional Grade.
The 2015 GMC Canyon might also take some cues from GMC’s sister company, Chevrolet; who released their mid-sized pickup, the 2015 Chevy Colorado, earlier this year. The new Colorado has two engine options: 2.5-liter four with 193 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque or a 3.6-liter DOHC V-6 with 302 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. There’s also talk of a possible diesel engine for the 2015 GMC Canyon mid-sized truck. Although, the Canyon will not be the same truck, GM president Mark Reuss has said, “there will be more differentiations between the 2015 Colorado and the 2014 Canyon.” What differentiations exactly? Well, we’ll have to wait and see.
Here’s the first glimpse of the 2015 GMC Canyon earlier released, which gives us a slightly better look at the new design. The Canyon can be seen on the right, next to the Chevy Colorado on the left.
